Plainshot is made by Humble Loop, a one-person studio. If something is broken, telling us your iPhone model and iOS version gets it fixed faster.
Which photo do I upload to Etsy?
The original. Etsy requires at least one unedited photo of the real item against a real background, and that photo must not be cropped or edited. Plainshot saves the original exactly as the camera took it. The cropped copies (portrait 3:4, square, tall 2:3) are for your other photos and other channels.
What is the Eye, and why don't I see it?
The Eye is the part of the coach that judges the background, shadows, glare and white backdrops. It runs on Apple's on-device model, so it needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer) on iOS 27, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. On other iPhones the coach still guides framing, distance, light and tilt.
Restoring a purchase
Open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchase. Your subscription belongs to the Apple Account that bought it, so sign in with that account first. A new phone or a reinstall is covered.
Cancelling
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Plainshot. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. If you are in the free trial, cancel before it ends and you will not be charged. After cancelling, the basic coach and saving originals keep working.
Refunds
Apple handles all App Store refunds; we cannot issue them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, and tell us too if something on our side was the reason.
The camera or saving doesn't work
- Settings → Plainshot → Camera must be on.
- Settings → Plainshot → Photos must allow adding photos, otherwise saving and product sets fail.
- If the coach keeps asking you to turn the phone sideways, check that Portrait Orientation Lock in Control Center is off.
Your data
There are no accounts. Live coaching runs on your phone; for shot ideas, one preview frame per product is checked on our server and not stored. Your finished photos are never uploaded. Details: privacy policy.
